Eat Your Heart Out Vegan Chickpea Tikka Massala

This delicious and nourishing dish is the perfect dinner when your feel like something hearty and sustaining. Mildly spicy with plenty of flavour, it is a quick and easy dish to whip up when you want to impress a health conscious guest.


Like other legumes, chickpeas are an excellent source of dietary fibre and plant based protein, which nourishes and sustains your body. With a low glycemic index, chickpeas release their carbohydrates slowly into your body, meaning they stabilise blood sugar and you’ll stay fuller for longer.


  • 2 Cans Of Chickpeas, Rinsed
  • 1 Can Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 Can Coconut Milk
  • Large Onion, Finely Diced
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Tbsp Garam Massala
  • 1 Tsp Turmeric
  • 2 Tsp Cumin
  • 2 Tsp Paprika
  • Salt To Taste
  • 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • Coriander (Optional)


  1. In a large saucepan, heat coconut oil over a medium high heat. Add onion and sauté until the onion turns golden, add garlic and spices and sauté for a further minute, until fragrant.
  2. Add chickpeas and tomatoes to the saucepan and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Combine with coconut milk and cook for a further 5 minutes.
  3. Add salt and coriander to taste
